Set up and manage a new user
Risk Warning
This content is for users of the Wrap Investment Hub and must not be relied on by anyone else. The value of investments can go down as well as up and may be worth less than originally invested.
Getting started
To create a new user, go to the ‘Business Mgmt’ tab and select ‘New User’. There is also an option to ‘Set up a new DIM user’.
You can create two different user types: an Admin User or a Transact User. Both user types have different levels of functionality and access as shown in the table below. If both Admin and Transact access is required, there is the option to select the DIM Admin Transact user type.
User type | Set up and maintain users | Create, edit and rebalance model portfolios | Transact on client accounts | Produce MI reports | Close model portfolios (by phone only) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Admin | Yes | No | No | Yes | Yes |
Transact |
No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
DIM Admin Transact | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Step 1 – user details
The first step is to enter the new user’s personal details and select the user type to be created. If an ‘Admin User’ is selected there is no requirement to enter a FCA number.
Step 2 – user access level
You can select a user to have Intermediate Admin, and either Company or Investment Manager level access as explained below. You can also replicate an existing user’s access.
- Intermediate Admin level access allows Admin Users to edit a model portfolio’s charges and your chosen adviser firms who have been permissioned to access a model portfolio. Intermediate Admin User level also allows an Admin User to add commentary to a model portfolio.
- Company level access allows the user to have’ read only’ or’ read/write’ access to all model portfolios. This will allow a Transact User to have the full range of transactional capability across all model portfolios. For an Admin User, it would allow them to have admin functionality across all model portfolios.
- Investment Manager level access gives a Transact User ‘read/write’ access to the model portfolios they create. It also allows the Transact User to be permissioned with’ read only’ or ‘read/write’ access to other investment managers’ model portfolios. This would mean they can only transact on their own model portfolios and the model portfolios created by the investment managers they are permissioned to. For an Admin User it allows them to have admin functionality for the investment manager’s model portfolios they are permissioned to.
- Duplicate from existing user - a new user can be replicated with the same access as an existing user by searching for and selecting the user set up you want to replicate.
Step 3 – Validate and execute
Once all details have been successfully entered, click on ‘Submit’ to create the new user.
Editing a user
From the Business Mgmt menu an Admin User can edit an existing user’s details by selecting ‘Edit User’ and searching for that user.
Once the search results are returned the Admin User can select the hyperlink for the user they want to edit. This will take them to the ‘set-up’ user process where they can edit any of the details previously entered.
Removing a user
Admin Users can remove an existing user’s access during editing a user’s set-up simply by selecting ‘Lock Account’. The user will no longer be able to log into Hub.
User ‘in progress’
Any existing wizards ‘in progress’ will be shown under the ‘user in progress’ tab. This includes ‘in progress’ changes to existing users. You can resume any ‘in progress’ work by clicking ‘resume’ or delete them by checking the ‘delete’ box and clicking ‘save’.
