Management information
There is a range of management information reports available to help you manage your model portfolios. To create a new report or view a previous report, navigate to the business management menu.
Create a new report
Within the ‘Request a new report’ table select the appropriate report from the ‘Reports’ drop down menu.
Reports can be produced either at individual model portfolio level or across all model portfolios – depending on the report being used.
Please Note: We recommend all reports are produced at an individual model portfolio level.
Depending on the report type, reports can be produced for an ‘as at date’ or over a ‘date range’.
Once all fields in the ‘Request a new report table’ have been selected, click on ‘create’ to generate your chosen report.
Report details will appear in the table below – report name, criteria, request date and time will be displayed and current status shown.
When a report is complete, hover the cursor over the report name and a pop-up box will show you a unique report ID – the report ID should be quoted if you are raising a query.
If you click on the ‘complete’ status hyperlink you can open and view the report – depending on which web browser you are using the action required to open and view a report will vary slightly.
Different types of reports
There are 9 comprehensive reports that are applicable for use with MPS model portfolios (Separately Managed Accounts), namely:
- Assets Under Administration* - provides the total value of assets, a breakdown value and details of each of the underlying client accounts invested in a model portfolio.
- Deferred activity* - shows any individual client accounts that have pending instructions, either withdrawals or rebalances that are queued waiting to complete.
- Holdings by account* – gives a full breakdown of all investment holdings, including fund name and quantity of units, for each individual client account invested in a model portfolio.
- Holdings by investment* – you can view the total aggregated overall holdings for each investment fund – including quantity and value of units.
- Model fees** – gives you total model portfolio charges paid over a selected period, broken down by individual client account and showing the VAT (If applicable) included in the overall payment.
Please Note: The model fees report is not available for advised model portfolios. - Negative cash balances* – shows any individual client accounts with a negative cash balance in the Model Portfolio Cash Account.
- New accounts** – shows details of any new individual client accounts opened over a reporting period. Details include; client name, adviser firm date and date the account was opened.
- Tolerance violation* – shows a list of each investment, by each individual client account and details of the model portfolio target allocations versus the client’s account current allocations.

Historical reports
You can access and review previously generated reports.
In the Filter Reports table, select the report type you want to review from the ‘Report Type’ dropdown menu, then select a date range.
Once you have completed all the fields in the ‘Filter Reports’ table - click on ‘go’.
All the reports generated during the selected date range will then be shown in the table below.
