Setting up a joint account in Wrap

Learn how to set up a joint account in Wrap.

Once a client is set up with a client record in the Wrap platform, you are able to add new products/joint accounts or a new WP, linking everything into one client record.

Edit existing client record

Go to the existing client record > Menu > Add New Product or (Add New Account WP if access level permits this option). The existing client details will already appear > Next Step > Wrapper Selection > Select your Joint Product > Bonds or Personal Portfolio.

NB – Only Bonds or Personal Portfolios are available.  This process allows this client to set up either one joint or one individual offshore bond sub account.

Add the Joint Name i.e. Mr and Mrs XYZ. You will see the note saying a New WP will be created.

  • Add your Joint Account Name
  • Find your 2nd client details by typing in the first name of the client
  • ADD the 2nd client when they appear +.   (If you can’t find the 2nd client, make sure your 2nd client record is under the SAME adviser as the first client.  Client records are driven by the Adviser/Business Writer alignment, from a search point of view.)

All existing client details will be added automatically. Update any information as necessary, e.g. auto disinvestment method, paperless etc. Continue to complete all the usual fields.

Proceed as usual with your products

Good to know – if you start a new client record, the system will tell you if the client exists under the same adviser. If this is the case, select to continue with existing record instead of duplicating another client record.

Add new client

Add New Client using the button Top Left.

  • Select Adviser
  • Client Type > Individual

Add new client details - basic information. Then Start New Business. Continue to add further details - Martial Status, NI, Address for the client. A client record is created at the next step when allocating products and payments in with a WP Number.

Proceed to Next

Wrapper Selection – Select the joint products > Bonds > Personal Portfolio

Name your joint account

Find your 2nd client by typing in the name and + add client.   (If you have not added your second client as a client record yet, SAVE and Exit this new business process. 1st client has been added successfully message will be shown as confirmed at the top.)

Now repeat the process to add your 2nd client. You must start new business, select a Personal Portfolio and next step through to Personal portfolio “payments in” section, which will then allocate a WP Number and client record.  This will enable you to find the client record to add as a 2nd person to the new business process you started on the 1st client.   You don’t need to submit the 2nd client empty shell/wrap account, just allocate a WP to find their record.

Once your 2nd client is added, return to the 1st client and resume Activity > New Business. Continue to add the 2nd client information.  or you can continue in this new business process and add 1st client details. Depending on who you wish to be the “Lead” client.

Now you will see the Joint account holder details and at the top both names appear

""

Continue to proceed with Payments in and complete your joint product information.
