Who can add/manage users on Wrap
You will need to be set up as an administrator on Wrap to manage adviser access and permissions.
There are multiple user types and levels of permission – please take a moment to understand these before setting up a new user.
Types of user
Business writer: can be assigned to clients in Wrap, will be paid OAC. Can’t automatically access the platform unless you add them as an adviser user.
Wrap adviser user: For advisers that want to access Wrap this provides them with login credentials. This also requires a Unipass identity. There are 5 levels of access described below.

Adding an adviser who is new to Wrap
You can set up a new adviser with the online form accessed via the Request Centre (Unipass login required). Select start a new journey, then look for “add adviser” and complete the form.
- If you want to give the adviser access to the platform, you will need to supply their email address and select which level of access you want to give them.
- Make sure the user sets up a Unipass identity if they don’t already have one.
- Set their permissions to allow them to view clients (see steps below).
Setting permissions
Permission the adviser to see their clients by following these steps when logged into Wrap:
- Go to menu > users and access > access management > edit adviser access to permission accounts.
- This will bring up a list of advisers within the firm. Choose read only or read/write access for the required advisers, then save and confirm your changes. This will allow the user to see all clients associated with these advisers.
- You can permission the user to see all advisers and their associated clients by using the “Edit company access” link at the top of the screen.
Common issues with user access and permissions
- An “access denied” error message when trying to log in may mean you are using the wrong URL - please check if your firm has its own dedicated platform login page, if so you need to use this not the Aberdeen page.
- An error stating “no clients or company found” means the user hasn’t been permissioned to view any accounts.
- Users can reset their passphrase themselves through the Unipass website.
- Administrators can search to check if an account is already set up under Menu > users and access > user management > find user. If no results appear, they will need to set the user up with a Wrap account.
